About this course

Level 2 Dementia Awareness Course. Study online at your own pace, with weekly tutorials over nine sessions. The course may be free if you live in Greater Manchester, are aged 19 or over, and are unemployed or earning under £26,800 a year. Fees may apply if you do not meet those criteria.

The course builds a thorough understanding of dementia. You'll explore types, signs, symptoms, and causes of the condition. You'll also study person-centred care, communication with people living with dementia, and equality and inclusion in care settings. This dementia awareness qualification is completed online, so it fits around work or other commitments.

You'll finish with a Highfield Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia.

Who this course is for

This course is for adults aged 19+. Learners develop an in-depth understanding of dementia, the specific needs of individuals with the condition, and methods for supporting their families and carers.

Assessment is based on the Highfield Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia specification. You'll complete the course through guided online learning with tutor support throughout.
