Level 2 Counselling Course. Study online with York Learning over 30 weeks, fitting your learning around your existing commitments. Fee reductions are available for some learners, though this is not a free Courses for Jobs course. The course builds your understanding and practical use of counselling skills in a helping or supportive role. You won't qualify as a counsellor on completion, but you'll gain tools and techniques you can apply in health, education, community, or voluntary settings. This level 2 counselling qualification is a solid foundation if you're working in care, support, or education.
Who this course is for
This course will increase your confidence and competence in the understanding and application of counselling skills to help others, in a wider helping role (either in a voluntary or employed capacity). On completion of the course, you will not have a qualified counsellor status (this will involve further study and experience) but it will provide you with some useful tools and techniques that can be applied in a helping / supportive role in various settings e.g. health, education, community, youth, and social work. Upon completion of the 7 mandatory units, you will be able to listen to and support others safely and professionally. You are required to complete an electronic portfolio of work to gain the full qualification.
