About this course

Free Level 2 Childcare Course. Study online. You can work through the material at your own pace, fitting study around your other commitments. The course covers child development, play, nutrition, and safeguarding, giving you a solid grounding in caring for children and young people. It typically takes 12 weeks to complete. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm this is the right level for you. A free childcare course for adults looking to build knowledge for roles in childcare, education, or support settings.

Who this course is for

This qualification is aimed at anyone who is working or is keen to work within healthcare and social care, or within education or support roles.

This course provides you with the opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding needed to work with individuals with learning disabilities. Principles of safeguarding and positive risk taking are covered, along with gaining awareness of the autistic spectrum.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding, you must live in England and have resided in the UK or EU/EEA for the last 3 years, must be aged 19 or over, must not have previously studied the course you are applying for or another similar course and must not currently be enrolled on another government-funded education programme. If you are aged between 19 and 23 - you must hold a full level 2 qualification If you're not eligible for funding, you can purchase the course online if you are over the age of 16.

How you will learn

You study entirely online, working through written materials at your own pace. Assessment is also completed online. There are no classroom sessions or travel required. You'll submit your work digitally and receive a digital e-certificate from TQUK on completion.
