Free Level 2 Carpentry Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You train on the job, building your skills while you earn. The course takes around 6 months to complete. An assessor will visit you at work twice to observe your practice and help you put together a portfolio of evidence. This free carpentry course is 100% funded. You'll need to be aged 19 or over, employed or self-employed in the trade, and based in an eligible area.

What you will learn
You'll demonstrate safe working practices on site
You'll carry out setting out and marking up for carpentry work
You'll install first and second fix timber components
You'll select and use the correct hand and power tools for each task
You'll interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
You'll work to industry standards for wood occupations in construction
How you will learn
Your assessor will visit your workplace twice to observe you working and to help you gather evidence. You'll build a portfolio that records what you do on the job. Evidence can include photographs, witness statements, and records of completed work. The qualification is assessed entirely through this workplace evidence portfolio, with no written exams.
