About this course

Level 2 Car Mechanic Course in Rugby. Classes run at Rugby College, full-time across three days a week. The course is free if you're under 19 years old or hold an EHCP. If you're 19 or over, fees may apply, though waivers are available depending on income or benefits. The course builds on Level 1 motor vehicle study, taking a closer look at individual vehicle systems over one year. The three-day timetable gives you time to seek work experience alongside your car mechanic classes. This is an IMI-awarded level 2 car mechanic qualification.

Who this course is for

This course is designed for students who have already completed the Level 1 Maintenance and repair course and wish to continue their motor vehicle studies on a full time basis, to enhance their skills and knowledge. This course runs on three days a week, in order to provide students with the opportunity to seek appropriate motor vehicle work experience whilst studying at college. During the one year programme, individual vehicle systems are studied in greater detail.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions and practical workshop activity at Rugby College. The course is delivered over three days a week, combining technical knowledge with hands-on skills. You'll be assessed on your understanding of vehicle systems and your ability to carry out maintenance and repair work to the required standard.
