The course covers esports games, teams and tournaments, how to set up an esports organisation, streaming, and event planning. You'll build communication and teamwork skills valued across the industry. You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC Certificate in ESports.

Who this course is for

The esports industry is a fast-growing global industry. Esports is defined as organised competitive gaming, which is human versus human, either as individuals or in teams. The BTEC Level 2 in Esports are for post-16 learners who want to specialise in a specific occupation, occupational area or technical role. Developed in close conjunction with leading employers, the BTEC Level 2 in Esports develops transferable workplace skills, such as good communication and the ability to work in a team, which employers have identified as essential for gaining employment in the sector and for progression once the learner is working.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, one being in English or Maths OR Level 1 qualification, such as a BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure, plus an ability to operate at Level 1 in either English or Maths. Mature students will be considered based on their previous qualifications and/or relevant work experience.
