About this course

Free Level 2 Bricklaying Course in Birmingham. Classes run at South & City College Birmingham Longbridge Construction Campus. You'll need a Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying to join, and evidence of previous work or a commitment to study may also be required. The course takes one year full-time and covers solid walling, isolated and attached piers, working drawings, and the principles of building construction. If your maths and English aren't yet at Grade 4, you'll work on those alongside the bricklaying qualification.

How you will learn

You'll learn in full-scale workshops equipped with professional-quality tools, taught by staff with industry experience. The course is classroom-based, full-time, and delivered during the day. Work experience is a core part of the programme and you'll be supported in finding a placement. If you're 16 to 18 and haven't yet reached Grade 4 in maths and English, you'll study those alongside your bricklaying classes.
