Free Level 2 Barbering Studies Course in Basingstoke. Classes run at Basingstoke College of Technology. This full-time, daytime barbering studies course covers practical skills and techniques across all areas of the barbering industry, from the ground up. You'll study for 35 weeks, building the hands-on ability employers expect. The level 2 barbering studies qualification is developed in association with Mike Taylor Education and prepares you for work in a barbering or hairdressing environment, or to progress to a Level 3 course.

The Barbering Level 2 diploma is a nationally recognised qualification for anyone who wants to learn barbering from the beginning, The skills and technique that you learn will prepare you for industry or progression to the Level 3 course. This is a vocationally planned barbering course designed to build skills in all areas of the barbering industry. Both practical and theory knowledge is delivered in our re-designed barbering academy here at BCoT by our highly talented barbering teaching team.

What you will learn
You'll learn how to cut men's hair using a range of barbering techniques.
You'll develop skills in clipper and scissor work.
You'll learn how to shave and shape facial hair.
You'll practise consultation skills to understand client needs.
You'll learn about scalp and hair health relevant to barbering.
You'll develop knowledge of barbering tools, products, and their safe use.
You'll build the practical skills needed to work in a professional barbering environment.
How you will learn
Learning is classroom based, combining practical salon sessions with underpinning knowledge work. You'll be assessed through practical observations, where an assessor watches you carry out barbering tasks to industry standards. There will also be written or online knowledge assessments covering the theory behind the practical skills. Both practical and knowledge elements form part of the VTCT Diploma assessment.
