Free Level 2 Barbering Course in Newcastle upon Tyne. Classes run at Trinity Academy Newcastle, full-time during the day. You'll develop hands-on barbering skills in a specialist training environment, with a work placement in a barbering salon as part of the course. The course runs for one year and may include Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English depending on your previous qualifications. Entry is open to 16 to 18 year olds.
Who this course is for
You will gain real experience and knowledge of working in the Barbering Industry, you will learn from highly skilled staff in a specialist training environment, the course will involve a work placement in a real Barbering environment (length assessed on a individual basis) and an option to progress to our successful pre apprenticeship programme which could lead to gaining an apprenticeship or employment. This course may include Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English depending on previous qualifications.

You'll gain experience of working in a real barbering environment through a work placement.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Trinity Academy Newcastle, combining practical skills training with underpinning knowledge. Assessment includes practical observations, where an assessor watches you carry out barbering services to a set standard. You'll also complete written or online knowledge assessments. The work placement element gives you experience in a working barbershop, which also contributes to your assessment.
