About this course

Free Level 2 Awareness of Mental Health Problems Course. Study online, at your own pace, without travelling to a centre. This awareness of mental health problems qualification covers a range of mental health conditions and how to work and interact with people who have them. The course takes up to 12 weeks and fits around your existing commitments. To be eligible for free funding, you must be aged 19 or over, live in England, and meet the residency requirements. If you are aged 19 to 23, you must already hold a full Level 2 qualification.

Who this course is for

This course is ideal for learners who wish to develop their awareness of mental health and a range of mental health problems, as well as gain an awareness of how to work and interact with individuals with these conditions. Anyone who currently works in health and social care settings would benefit from this course, as well as those who would like to raise their awareness of mental health for personal reasons. This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 or above.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding, you must live in England and have resided in the UK or EU/EEA for the last 3 years, must be aged 19 or over, must not have previously studied the course you are applying for or another similar course and must not currently be enrolled on another government-funded education programme. If you are aged between 19 and 23 - you must hold a full level 2 qualification

If you're not eligible for funding, you can purchase the course online if you are over the age of 16.

  • You'll learn about a range of prevalent mental health problems and their characteristics.
  • You'll develop awareness of how mental health conditions can affect daily life and behaviour.
  • You'll explore how to work and interact appropriately with individuals experiencing mental health problems.
  • You'll gain knowledge relevant to health and social care settings.

How you will learn

You study entirely online through an e-learning platform, working through written content and activities at your own pace. Assessment is carried out online. On successful completion, you receive a digital e-certificate issued by TQUK. You can study at any time and from any location with internet access.

The centre will provide most materials. The Skills Network will confirm anything else you need before you start.
