About this course

Free Level 2 Art and Design Course in Stamford. Classes run full-time at Stamford College, five days a week during the day, over 36 weeks.

The course builds on existing the course skills. You'll explore drawing, illustration, mixed media, painting, printmaking, interior design, and animation. Photography and Photoshop are also part of the programme. Towards the end, you manage your own Final Project independently.

You'll finish with a Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design, awarded by the University of the Arts London.

Who this course is for

This course will build on your existing art or design skills whilst allowing you to explore the more challenging elements such as drawing illustration mixed media painting printmaking interior design and animation. In addition you will experiment building your photographic and Photoshop skills. You will explore your creativity by managing your own Final Project independently and final outcome.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grades 3/D or above including English or maths and either an art or design-based subject. You will also need to bring a portfolio of work to your interview to demonstrate your artistic strengths and you will need to submit a summer project given to you after the close of the academic year.   We also run a 6 weeks to suc­cess pro­gramme that oper­ates from the first day you start your course. How you will learn

You'll learn through practical studio-based work in the classroom. Assessment is through a portfolio of work built up across the course and an independently managed Final Project. You'll also complete a summer project before the course begins. A six-week support programme runs from the start of the course to help you settle in.

You'll need to bring a portfolio of your artwork to your interview. After enrolment, you'll be given a summer project to complete before the course starts. Stamford College will confirm any other materials you need before you begin.
