Free Level 2 Animal Care Course in Boston. Classes run at Boston College, full-time during the day. You'll study both practical and theoretical units over 9 months, covering animal accommodation, feeding, health and welfare, and animal behaviour and handling. The course includes 15 to 30 hours of work experience at the college's specialist Animal Care Unit. You'll need four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, or equivalent, plus Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths and English, and evidence of two days of meaningful work experience.
Who this course is for
The Level 2 Animal Care Extended Certificate is designed allowing you to focus on a small number of units whilst receiving support to complete assignments. You will infill with the Level 2 Diploma learners but will complete less units in total. You will complete practical and theoretical units and it is ideal if you feel you may require more support once you complete the Level 1 Animal Care (Land Based Studies) Diploma. It also offers a good opportunity to concentrate on achieving your Maths and English qualifications.
Entry requirements
The entry qualifications for the Level 2 Animal Care Extended Certificate are four GCSEs at grade 3 or above (old grade D or above) or equivalent. As well as Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths and English. You will need to demonstrate that you have completed two days of meaningful work experience.
