Entry requirements

Before you start the course, you will have to complete an assessment to gauge your level and place you in the correct class. If you are not quite ready for the Functional Skills qualification, we can support you to progress on to this.

To be eligible for the funded sessions, you must be 19 years or older and live within the local authority areas of St Helens, Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, or Wirral.

You'll learn through classroom sessions with a tutor and small group work. Assessment is by a written external exam set by Ascentis. You'll complete the exam when your tutor confirms you're ready.
