About this course

Free Level 1 ESOL Skills for Life (speaking and listening) Course in Wandsworth. Classes run at LIBS Training in the evenings, so you can fit study around other commitments. The course builds spoken English for everyday situations: job interviews, community life, and the workplace. You'll need an Entry Level 3 ESOL Speaking and Listening qualification (or equivalent), or score at working towards Level 1 in your initial assessment. The course runs for 96 hours part-time.

Who this course is for

This course is for adults who do not speak English as a first language, but has a basic command of the language with limited vocabulary.

Entry requirements

You will need to complete an initial assessment before registration on the course. You must have achieved an Entry Level 3 ESOL Speaking & Listening qualification (or equivalent), prior to the course or score at working towards Level 1 in your initial assessment.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at LIBS Training. Teaching covers speaking and listening tasks drawn from real everyday contexts: work, community, and social situations. Assessment is through spoken tasks and listening activities that reflect the Level 1 qualification standard. You'll complete an initial assessment before the course starts, and an Information, Advice and Guidance session to make sure this is the right level for you.
