About this course

Level 1 Engineering Course in Colchester. Classes run at Adult Skills Centre Colchester, full-time during the day. It may be free if you're 16 to 18 years old. If you're 19 or over, fees may apply.

The course runs for nine months and covers a broad range of engineering and manufacturing skills. Topics include fitting techniques, machining, MIG and TIG welding, sheet metal work, CAD, and health and safety. You'll also develop your English, maths, and employability skills alongside the technical content.

You'll need three GCSEs including English and Maths, or a Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent, plus an interview. You'll finish with a City and Guilds Certificate in Engineering.
