About this course

Who this course is for

Employability Skills qualifications are designed to support an individual successfully gaining a job, progressing in a chosen field, preparing the individual for further study and supporting the development of techniques required for successful independent living.

This qualification is aimed at anyone who wants to live a more independent life, progress in education and/or their employment prospects; get into a job, develop on the job or move onto the next job, as they progress along the career ladder.

Entry requirements

Must be aged 16 to 18 and you don't need any previous experience in the industry already.

  • You'll write and improve a CV tailored to employers.
  • You'll practise interview techniques to help you perform well on the day.
  • You'll build workplace communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • You'll learn how to manage your time and work independently.
  • You'll explore how to set goals and plan your next steps in education or work.
  • You'll develop skills for independent living, including managing responsibilities day to day.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions at Nova Training Dereham. Assessment is ongoing and based on the work you produce throughout the course, such as written tasks, practical activities, and portfolio evidence. There are no formal written exams.

The centre will provide most materials. Nova Training Dereham will confirm anything else you need before you start.
