Employability Skills qualifications are designed to support an individual successfully gaining a job, progressing in a chosen field, preparing the individual for further study and supporting the development of techniques required for successful independent living.

This qualification is aimed at anyone who wants to live a more independent life, progress in education and/or their employment prospects; get into a job, develop on the job or move onto the next job, as they progress along the career ladder.

Entry requirements

Must be aged 16 to 18 and you don't need any previous experience in the industry already.

  • You'll practise workplace communication and professional behaviour.
  • You'll explore how to manage your time and organise your work.
  • You'll learn about rights and responsibilities in the workplace.

  • You'll identify your own strengths and set goals for employment or further study.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Nova Training Cannock. Learning is practical and activity-based, covering real tasks linked to work and everyday life. Assessment is through portfolio work and practical tasks completed during the course. There are no written exams.
