About this course

Free Level 1 Computer Course in Whitehaven. Classes run at Whitehaven Archive Centre, part-time during the day over 15 weeks.

The course is designed for people with little or no digital experience. You'll learn practical skills for everyday life and work. Topics include making appointments online, ordering goods and services, setting up video calls, creating and editing documents, and fixing basic problems on your device.

You'll complete an initial assessment to confirm this is the right level for you. You finish with a Gateway Qualifications Essential Digital Skills qualification.

Who this course is for

The qualification provides learners with the essential digital skills which are needed in a wide range of situations in life and at work. For example, successful learners will be able to make appointments, order goods and services, organise payments using online platforms, conduct video calls, create, edit and save a range of documents, and troubleshoot basic problems on their device. At Level 1 the focus is primarily on digital skills for work with a secondary focus on digital skills for life.
