Free NCFE Level 1 Childcare Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You learn while working in a childcare setting, putting skills into practice from day one. The course covers child development, safeguarding, and supporting children's wellbeing. It typically takes 8 months to complete. No entry requirements. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm this level 1 childcare qualification is the right fit and to plan your learning.

This is a work-based course. You learn in your workplace, applying skills directly in a real childcare setting. Assessment is through observations of your practice, written tasks, and a portfolio of evidence you build up over the 8 months. Your assessor will visit you at work to observe and support your progress.
