The department supports learners with a learning disability or difficulty to prepare them for either independent living or supported employment. Each learner will have an individual/bespoke learning plan and curriculum timetable to suit their individual needs and interests.
You will study areas in your individual learning plan. These may include the following:

Learning and social support can be provided and support with travel training.
You will work towards an accredited entry Level and Level 1 study programme and follow a personalised time table. There are four steps which enable you to begin at a suitable starting point and progress to achieve your personal goals.
Step 1: for those students with complex additional needs.
Step 2: programmes designed to support students looking to develop their independent living skills.
Step 3: for students aiming to develop their employability skills, including volunteering and work experience opportunities.
Step 4: the Supported Traineeship programme: combining work experience with an employer and time in College to gain a qualification.
Entry requirements
You must have an Education Health and Care plan (EHP)and is subject to commissioning by your local authority.
This course is aimed at students aged between 16 and 24.
