About this course

GCSE Maths in Lambeth. Classes run full-time during the day at Lilian Baylis Technology School. It may be free for some learners, and fees may apply for others. A bursary is available for eligible students.

The course runs over one year. You'll study number, algebra, ratio, geometry, probability, and statistics. Who this course is for

A 1 year course which is taken by any student who has not achieved at least a Grade 4 in GCSE English (or equivalent). Students will have the opportunity of taking this exam in November and June until at least Grade 4 is achieved.

  • You'll study geometry and measures, including angles, area, and volume.

  • You'll calculate probability and understand chance.
  • You'll develop problem-solving skills across all topic areas.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom lessons during the day. The course is assessed entirely by written exams. Pearson Edexcel sets three exam papers: one non-calculator and two calculator papers. Exams are available in November and June each year. You can sit them more than once until you achieve at least Grade 4.
