This course is designed for you if you are planning to start a GCSE Maths programme in September 2026 but want to build your confidence and skills first. You will work on key mathematical topics, problem-solving strategies, and exam techniques to help prepare you for the demands of GCSE study. At the end of the course, you will take an assessment, and your overall performance will be reviewed to determine whether you are ready to progress to GCSE Maths or if a different pathway would be more suitable for your learning journey.
Entry requirements
Before enrolling, you will need to complete an initial assessment and an interview to evaluate your current maths knowledge, skills, and ability to study at this level. There are usually no specific qualifications required to join this course, but you are expected to have Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and English, or have studied Key Stage 3 Maths or equivalent.
