Free Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Course in Widnes. Classes run at Ashley School 6th Form, full-time during the day. This level 2 functional skills maths qualification is the recognised GCSE maths equivalent, accepted by employers and colleges in place of a GCSE grade 4 or above. The course runs over two years. No prior maths qualifications are required. You'll have an initial assessment so the centre can plan your learning at the right level.

Entry requirements
No prior knowledge, understanding, skills or qualifications are required before learners register for this qualification. However, centres must follow the guidance given in the Pearson document A guide to recruiting with integrity and enrolling learners onto qualifications (see Section 8 Access and recruitment for more information).
What you will learn
You'll use numbers confidently for everyday calculations, including fractions, decimals and percentages.
You'll interpret and work with data presented in tables, charts and graphs.
You'll solve problems involving ratio, proportion and scale.
You'll apply maths to real-world contexts such as money, time and measurement.
You'll use formulae and carry out calculations involving area, perimeter and volume.
You'll develop the skills to check your own working and identify errors.
How you will learn
You'll study in a classroom at Ashley School 6th Form, with tutor-led sessions and practice activities. Assessment is by a written exam set and marked by Pearson Edexcel. The exam covers both calculator and non-calculator sections. Your tutor will use ongoing tasks and practice papers to prepare you for the final assessment.
