About this course

Free Functional Skills Maths Level 2. Study online. Evening classes run part-time over 11 weeks, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. This level 2 functional skills maths course covers the maths skills that employers and colleges ask for. Functional Skills Level 2 is the recognised GCSE maths equivalent; when employers ask for GCSE maths or equivalent, this qualification meets that standard. You'll complete a Functional Skills Assessment before you start, so the course is matched to the right level for you. Computers and wi-fi can be loaned if you need them. Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics Level 2 with certificate.

Entry requirements

You will need to complete a Functional Skills Assessment.

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages in everyday contexts.
  • You'll interpret and use ratios and proportions to solve problems.
  • You'll read, interpret, and draw graphs, charts, and tables.
  • You'll use measures, shapes, and basic geometry in practical situations.
  • You'll solve multi-step maths problems using logical reasoning.
  • You'll check and evaluate results to make sure they make sense in context.

How you will learn

You study online at times that suit you, with evening sessions available. Assessment is by a written external exam set and marked by Pearson Edexcel. Before the exam, you'll complete a Functional Skills Assessment so your starting point is confirmed. If you don't have access to a computer or wi-fi at home, a Chromebook and pre-loaded wi-fi dongle can be loaned for the duration of the course.

What you will need to bring

When you enrol, bring either your UK birth certificate, UK or EU passport, or your Indefinite Leave to Remain Resident Permit. Sessions can take up to 90 minutes. Croydon Adult Learning and TraininG will confirm anything else you need before you start.
