Free Functional Skills English Level 2 Course in Middlesbrough. Classes run at Redcar & Cleveland Training and Employment Hub, part-time during the day.

This is the recognised GCSE English equivalent for adults. The course runs over 20 weeks. You'll build your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Topics cover everyday English for work and further study. There are no entry requirements. You'll complete an initial assessment before you start, so you join the right level.

You'll finish with a Level 2 Functional Skills Qualification in English.

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements, but we ask all learners to complete an initial and diagnostic assessment before the course starts so we can enrol you on the right level.

How you will learn

You'll attend classroom sessions at the centre during the day. Learning is delivered in small groups. You'll practise reading, writing, speaking, and listening through tasks and activities. Assessment is through a written exam and a speaking and listening assessment. Both are set and marked by City and Guilds.
