To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

What you will learn

  • You'll write clearly for different purposes, such as letters, emails, and forms.
  • You'll use grammar, punctuation, and spelling accurately at Level 1 standard.
  • You'll speak clearly and listen carefully in discussions and conversations.
  • You'll identify the main points and purpose of written and spoken information.
  • You'll plan and organise your writing to suit the audience and purpose.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom at Northallerton Adult Education, with a mix of group activities, written tasks, and discussion. Assessment is through a formal written exam and a speaking and listening assessment. Both are set and marked externally by City and Guilds.
