Free Functional Skills English Level 1 in Sheffield. Daytime classes run at CTS Training. You'll study reading, writing, speaking, and listening at Level 1 over around 100 hours of flexible classroom learning. A Level 1 functional skills english course covers the practical English skills employers ask for in most workplaces. When employers ask for a GCSE english alternative, this qualification is the recognised standard at this level. You'll sit an assessment at the end.

No matter how well you did prior, we can help you get where you want to be on a CTS Study Programme to help you gain the qualifications & confidence you may need for the future.
What you will learn
You'll read and understand different types of texts, including workplace documents and everyday materials.
You'll write clearly for different purposes, such as emails, letters, and short reports.
You'll use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in your writing.
You'll listen to spoken information and identify key points.
You'll speak clearly and contribute to discussions in a range of situations.
You'll identify the main purpose and audience of texts you read.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at CTS Training, with flexible daytime attendance. Learning covers reading, writing, speaking, and listening through practical tasks and activities. Assessment is through a written exam and a separate speaking and listening assessment, both set and marked by City and Guilds.

The centre will provide most materials. CTS Training will confirm anything else you need before you start.
