Free Entry Level Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development Course in Newton Aycliffe. Classes run at Waythrough Education Centre, full-time during the day. The course runs for 35 weeks and covers the skills you need to move into employment, further training, or personal development. Alongside the main qualification, you'll also work toward Functional Skills in maths and English, and there are opportunities for work experience. You must be aged 16 to 18, or 19 to 24 with an Educational Health Care Plan, and resident in the UK.

Who this course is for

Funded via the Education Funding Agency, the Steps 4 Success programme provides tailored support to young people to increase their confidence and qualifications. It also provides opportunities for work experience. Young people work towards a NOCN Certificate in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development as well as Functional Skills in maths and English.

You'll learn in a classroom at Waythrough Education Centre, with full-time daytime attendance across 35 weeks. Learning is supported by work experience placements. Assessment is through the NOCN qualification framework, covering the skills for employment, training and personal development units alongside Functional Skills assessments in maths and English.
