Entry Level Certificate in Mathematics has specifically been designed to complement the GCSE (9 - 1) Mathematics qualification, enabling lower attainers to develop the underpinning mathematical skills and understanding to provide a progression route to GCSE Mathematics.
Entry requirements
This course is being run in the academic years 2020-2022 but there is no guarantee that it will run in future years. Entry to the course will depend on the deaf student’s prior attainment.
What you will learn
You'll develop core number skills, including working with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
You'll practise measuring and using units of measurement in everyday contexts.
You'll work with basic geometry, including shapes, space, and simple calculations involving them.

How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions during the day. Assessment is through tasks and activities set by the centre, marked against the Pearson Edexcel Entry Level Certificate in Mathematics specification. There are no formal written exams at this level. Your progress will be tracked throughout the course, and the centre will guide you through each topic before you move on.
