About this course

Free Entry Level 3 Preparation for Employment Course in Folkestone. Classes run full-time during the day at Folkestone College. This course is free for students with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) up to the age of 24 years old, and for other young people with a high level of need up to 19 years old. Over 44 weeks, you'll develop practical employability skills, improve your maths and English, and build independent living skills. One day a week is spent on a work placement, either in college or with an external partner.

Who this course is for

Our Step for Work courses prepare students for employment as well as increase their confidence and social skills. The course is accredited and students will gain an Entry 3 Certificate in Progression into Employment.

Learning is classroom-based and tailored to you, with personalised targets set each term. You'll build a portfolio of evidence throughout the course to show your progress. Assessment uses a range of methods, which can be discussed when you apply. You'll also take part in a one-day-a-week work placement, trips, community events, and social action projects as part of your learning.
