Greater Manchester residents only. We offer a range of courses and qualifications to suit your needs and to help you gain skills to increase your employment prospects at a pace and time to suit you. You can improve your Maths skills and gain nationally recognised qualifications from Entry 1 up to Level 2. These qualifications can provide a stepping stone towards a Maths GCSE.

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • You'll understand fractions and simple percentages.
  • You'll read and interpret straightforward charts, tables and graphs.
  • You'll use measures, including length, weight, capacity and time.
  • You'll solve practical maths problems using everyday contexts.
  • You'll develop the number skills needed to progress toward a maths GCSE.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom at Oldham Library and Lifelong Learning Centre, with a tutor guiding each session. Learning is part-time and daytime, spread over 30 weeks. Assessment is through tasks and activities that show what you can do. A skills check at the start makes sure Entry Level 3 is the right starting point for you.
