Free Entry Level 3 Functional Skills English course in Scarborough. Classes run at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service, part-time during the day, over 18 weeks. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact
What you will learn

You'll write clearly for practical purposes, such as messages, notes, and simple letters.
You'll spell, punctuate, and use grammar accurately at Entry Level 3.
You'll listen and respond to spoken information in straightforward situations.
You'll speak clearly and take part in simple discussions and conversations.
You'll identify the main points in texts and explain your understanding.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service, with a tutor guiding each session. Learning is hands-on and practical, using everyday texts and real tasks. Assessment is through a formal City and Guilds test covering reading, writing, speaking, listening, and communication. You'll be assessed when you and your tutor agree you're ready.
