Free Entry Level 3 English Skills in Catterick Garrison. Evening classes run at Catterick Library & Information Centre, so you can fit study around your existing commitments. The course covers reading, writing, speaking, and listening at Entry Level 3. It runs over 55 hours part-time. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm Entry Level 3 English Skills is the right level for you. Assessment is portfolio-based rather than a traditional exam. You must not already hold an Entry Level 3 or higher English qualification.

This course is for people who want to improve their English skills gain a qualification in English without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 3 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment
What you will learn
You'll read and understand everyday texts, including letters, forms, and short articles.
You'll write clearly for everyday purposes such as messages, notes, and simple documents.
You'll spell common words correctly and use basic punctuation.
You'll listen and respond to spoken information in everyday situations.
You'll speak clearly and take part in simple discussions.
You'll identify the main points in a short piece of writing.
How you will learn
Classes are classroom-based and run in the evening at Catterick Library & Information Centre. Assessment is portfolio-based, so you build up evidence of your skills over the course rather than sitting a formal exam. You'll work through tasks in class and your tutor will support you throughout.
