About this course

Free Entry Level 3 Employability Skills Course in Widnes. Classes run at Riverside College Kingsway Campus, full-time during the day. The course is for 16 to 25 year olds with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, social anxiety, or autistic spectrum disorders.

Over one year, you'll build the practical skills employers look for. Units cover communication, teamwork, managing daily tasks, and preparing for work. The course is designed to support you at every step, with help available for a range of individual needs.

You'll finish with a City and Guilds Extended Certificate in Employability Skills at Entry Level 3.

Who this course is for

Aimed at School Leavers. Support is made available to enable equal access to our courses by students who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities. They are able to assess individual needs and advise on matters concerning the welfare, education and social development of our students.We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and friendly atmosphere. This comes from the strong relationships which exist between staff and students creating a college community where each person is valued and can flourish.

Entry requirements

As part of Riverside and Cronton Colleges - The Foundation Studies department provides further education for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, social anxiety and autistic spectrum disorders, who are aged between 16:25 years.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions at Riverside College Kingsway Campus. Teaching is practical and activity-based. Assessment is ongoing through coursework, tasks, and observations rather than formal exams. Staff will support you throughout and can adapt learning to suit your individual needs.
