Free Entry Level 1 Functional Skills English in Rotherham. Classes run at Dearne Family Centre during the day, part-time over 36 weeks. This is an entry level functional skills english course designed to fit around other commitments. You'll start with a guidance session so the team can understand your current skills and plan your learning from there. The course covers everyday reading, writing, and communication skills at Entry Level 1. It's a recognised step into further English study and a useful foundation for work or daily life.

What you will learn
You'll read and understand simple everyday texts, such as signs, notes, and forms.
You'll write simple words and sentences for everyday purposes.
You'll listen to and follow simple spoken instructions.
You'll speak clearly enough to communicate basic information.
You'll recognise and use the alphabet and basic punctuation.
You'll build familiarity with common everyday vocabulary.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at Dearne Family Centre, with a tutor supporting you through each topic. Assessment is through tasks and activities that reflect everyday English use. You'll be assessed on reading, writing, speaking, and listening at Entry Level 1. Your progress will be reviewed throughout the course.
