About this course

Free BTEC Level 3 Sport Course in Gloucester. Classes run at Hartpury College, full-time during the day. The course is free if you are under 19 years old on 31 August. If you are 19 or over, tuition fees apply.

You'll study sport science, coaching, fitness, and sports development over one year. Units cover anatomy and physiology, sports psychology, performance analysis, and practical coaching skills. You'll also build experience by coaching in schools and leading sports activities.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Sport at Level 3.

Entry requirements

2 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include English Language and either Mathematics or a Science.

We will accept applicants with a grade 3 in English Language, provided they have achieved a grade 4 or above in English Literature.

Assessment is through assignments, portfolios of evidence, and practical observations. You'll complete units throughout the year, with each unit assessed separately. There are no formal written exams for this qualification.
