About this course

Free Access to HE Sports Science Course in Gloucester. Classes run at Hartpury College, full-time over one year.

The course is free for learners aged under 19 on 31 August. If you are 19 or over, tuition fees apply. You study human physiology, sports psychology, sports nutrition, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, and sports injuries. Units also cover coaching principles, rehabilitation, and research skills. You commit to around 15 contact hours a week, running September to June.

You finish with an Access to HE Diploma in Sports Science, which is recognised by UK universities as a route into degree-level study.

How you will learn

Assessment is through written assignments and practical tasks across 60 credits of units at Level 3. There are no formal exams. You complete units in areas such as sports science, coaching, physiology, and sports psychology throughout the year.
