Who this course is for

Explore your creativity, knowledge and technical skills in our well-equipped performance spaces. Discover how lighting, costume and set design contribute to dance, whilst choreographing and performing a range of dance pieces in front of a range of audiences.

You will research the work of key dance practitioners which will help develop your research, critical analysis and extended writing skills. We also consider spiritual, moral, social, cultural and human values with our work.

Entry requirements

To enter South Craven Sixth Form students need to have achieved Grade 9-4 at GCSE (A*-C), or Merits in other level 2 qualifications (e.g. BTEC, OCR Nationals), in at least 5 separate subjects including English Lit/English Language or Maths. This is considered to be the minimum entry requirement. Must include Grade 4 in GCSE Dance OR Merit in BTEC Level 2 Dance

The course includes 360 guided learning hours over two years, giving you time to develop both your practical performance skills and your written and analytical work.
