Free BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts Course in Blackpool. Classes run full-time at Blackpool Sixth Form College, five days a week during the day. This level 3 BTEC performing arts qualification covers singing, dancing, and acting, and you'll need experience in at least two of those before you start. Over two years, you'll take part in workshops with professional performers and complete work experience in the community. The course is designed to prepare you for higher education or vocational training in the performing arts industry. You'll need five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English or maths, to be considered.
Who this course is for
What is it?This is an exciting and varied course developing technique and performance skills in; singing, dancing and acting (you need to have experience in at least two of these before joining the course). It aims to provide budding West End stars with the skills to apply for higher education courses, or vocational training in the industry. You will have technique classes and workshops as well as numerous performance opportunities. You will undertake work experience in the community and will focus on the high standards needed in the musical theatre industry. Students on the triple course cover the same content as the single course but also take further modules to include developing their own performance material for external events, gaining teaching experience, developing self promotion materials and networking. Students on the triple will also have greater performance opportunities within this course as they will generate more content from the triple elements. You will also undertake a large scale collaborative project, where you will learn about the adminstrative roles of working in the performing arts as well as the creative roles. Please note that this course can not be taken in combination with any other BTEC Performing Arts course, but can be taken as a Triple option.Please note that this course can not be taken in combination with any other BTEC Performing Arts course.
Entry requirements
As BTEC level 3 courses are advanced courses, we require five A*- C passes of 4 (C) grade or above (or equivalent) including English language or maths. Please see our website for any specific course requirements.

How you will learn
You'll learn through practical workshops, performance projects, and work experience placements. As a Pearson Edexcel BTEC qualification, assessment is largely coursework and portfolio-based, with units assessed through assignments, performances, and practical projects rather than written exams. Classes are classroom and studio based, full-time during the day at Blackpool Sixth Form College.
