Free BTEC Level 3 Music Course in Burnley. Classes run at Burnley College, full-time over two years. This is a Pearson Edexcel BTEC qualification focused on music technology and production, not traditional instrument-based study. Entry typically requires five GCSEs at Grade 5 or above, including English and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

The first year focuses on developing fundamental music technology skills in three main areas: DAW production, live events, and studio recording. DAW production will focus on developing your digital music production skills, such as MIDI input, audio editing, sound design, and using audio effects. Live events will focus on setting up, operating, and managing sound equipment as part of a production team for a real live music performance. Studio recording will focus on capturing professional multi-track recordings in a studio environment, including understanding microphone placements, capturing high-quality audio, working with an artist in the studio, and mixing a multi-track recording.
