About this course

BTEC Level 2 Creative Media Course in Leicester. Classes run at Leicester College St. Margaret's Campus, full-time during the day. This level 2 btec creative media course covers film, photography, digital editing, digital design, and a creative project. The course runs for one year. You'll also complete a work experience placement and an employability programme. There is a strong emphasis on research, development, and evaluation throughout. The Pearson Edexcel BTEC creative media qualification is equivalent to four GCSEs at grade 4 or above.

This course is aimed at those who enjoy creative subjects and wish to start a career in Media, Photography, Journalism or Film, and want to gain a qualification equivalent to four GCSEs grade 4 or above.

Our established Digital Media Department offers this course aimed at those who are interested in Photography and Media. It is a practical course and requires creative talent and a committed attitude. There is a strong emphasis on research, development, and evaluation. The course is a one-year full-time programme that leads to entry onto our range of level 3 Creative Media, TV and Film or Photography qualifications.

How you will learn

Learning is practical and classroom based. You'll work through four units covering skills development, a creative media project, and personal development. The first two terms focus on investigation, communication, practical skills, and production. In the final term you complete an extended creative project, applying everything you've learned to respond to a set brief. Assessment is through coursework and portfolio evidence rather than written exams.
