About this course

Free BTEC Level 1 Workskills Course in Bristol. Classes run at South Bristol Skills Academy, full-time during the day.

The course runs over one year. You'll build practical work skills, improve your English and maths, and develop communication skills through Citizenship. You'll also complete a work placement during the year. The course is aimed at learners working at Entry Level 3 or with the potential to reach Level 1 by the end of the year. Staff usually meet with you before you start.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel Level 1 Certificate in WorkSkills.

Who this course is for

This 1 year course is perfect if you want to reinforce your work skills in readiness for a higher level course. You can also develop, through Citizenship, ideas, skills & knowledge that help you communicate more effectively with those around you. You will also work on your English and maths. In addition you will go to a work placement for part of the year.

Entry requirements

You should be working at Entry Level 3 or have the ability to gain Level 1 qualifications by the end of your year. Potential students usually visit/meet staff before the course starts.
