About this course

AAT Level 3 Accounting Course in Maidstone. Classes run at MidKent College Maidstone Campus, part-time during the day, over one year. You'll study double-entry bookkeeping, management accounting, and VAT, building on your existing knowledge at a manageable pace. The course covers year-end adjustments, financial statements for sole traders and partnerships, and how to produce a VAT Return. To enrol, you'll need good literacy and numeracy skills and will complete a short skills test and an AAT online assessment.

Who this course is for

This Level 3 course, offered as remote online learning eithe during the day or evening, will start to develop your skills further in double-entry bookkeeping and management accounting

It is targeted towards manual bookkeeping. You will learn how to deal with year-end adjustments and producing the Financial Statements of sole traders and partnerships, together with gaining an understanding of the rules around VAT and producing a VAT Return, you will progress your knowledge of management accounting and the Business Awareness unit. There will be a big element of Excel within the course.

Level 3 consists of the following modules:

  • Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements
  • Tax Processes for Business
  • Management Accounting Techniques
  • Business Awareness

All of the modules are assessed by online supervised exams authorised and assessed by the AAT and you would receive instant results for the first two units whilst there would be a 6 week wait for the remaining two units resultsCourses are classroom based at Maidstone in the daytime or a remote evening class is available – lessons will be a combination of theory and practical exercises.

Entry requirements

You will need to have a good level of general education with good literacy and numeracy skills. You will be required to undertake a short test to check your current skill levels in these areas and an AAT online skills test. If you are progressing from the Level 3 qualification then you would need to have fully completed this and achieved a Merit Grade.
