About this course

CMI Level 7 Strategic Management Certificate. Study online at your own pace, fitting learning around your working life. Around 200 hours of study typically takes four to six months.

The course covers two CMI units. Unit 714 focuses on personal and professional development for strategic leaders. Unit 701 explores strategic leadership theory and practice. You'll analyse leadership approaches, evaluate your own abilities, and learn to apply strategic thinking within your organisation. Some background in middle or upper management is expected, along with experience at undergraduate degree level or equivalent.

You'll finish with a CMI Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership.

This level 7 Certificate aims to provide learners with an introduction to the knowledge and skills expected at senior level management. The course will provide the learner with knowledge of relevant leadership and management theory and empower them to apply this knowledge to their organisations.

Entry requirements

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, prospective learners should have experience in middle or upper management, previous academic experience at or equivalent to undergraduate degree level, and some previous knowledge of leadership and management theory would be desirable.
