About this course

Assessor/Coach Level 4 Apprenticeship. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working in a role that involves assessing or coaching others, putting skills into practice from day one. The programme covers professional practice, coaching support, quality improvement, and the values and communication skills central to the sector. Entry requirements are set by your employer; you'll typically need Level 2 English, maths, and ICT before you start, or achieve these alongside the apprenticeship. The course typically takes 15 months.

Apprentices should hold Level 2 English, ICT and maths skills prior to the commencement of training. Those who have not will need to achieve this prior to taking their end point assessment.

Entry requirements

Employers may set their own entry requirements which may include, as a dual professional, an appropriate qualification and current experience of the specialism. Also, you may already hold the Level 3 qualification in Assessing; some employers may require candidates without this and require that candidates should achieve this as part of the apprenticeship. Apprentices should hold Level 2 English, ICT and maths skills prior to the commencement of training. Those who have not will need to achieve this prior to taking their end point assessment.

How you will learn

Learning is work-based and delivered on a one-to-one basis, fitted around your working pattern. You'll learn through structured on-the-job activity, with flexible scheduling to suit you and your employer. Assessment is carried out in the workplace and aligned to the apprenticeship standard, covering knowledge, skills, and behaviours required at Level 4.
