About this course

Free Level 4 IQA Course in Cheltenham. Classes run at National Star College, daytime on a flexible basis. This free iqa course for adults is designed for people who oversee and coordinate the work of other internal quality assurers within their organisation. You'll need to be 19 or over, and hold or be working toward a Level 3 NVQ, or have relevant experience in your subject area. The course runs over 170 hours.

Who this course is for

The Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) is for candidates who would be responsible for the planning, allocating & monitoring of the work done by other Internal Quality Assurers. The area of responsibility would be that of managing or co-ordinating the quality assurance in the organisation through managing the work of a team of Internal Quality Assurers. It has been designed:

  • For individuals who are currently practicing as internal quality assurers or a professional development qualification for managers, HR or quality assurance personnel
  • For individuals who are carrying out assessments and quality assurance in most learning environments including FE, Adult Continuing Learning, Employers and Third Sector
  • For individuals who are carrying out quality assurance in all occupational sectors
  • For individuals working in accredited learning OR non accredited learning (where people may assess performance but do not assess for a qualification); the NQF and the RQF
  • For individuals who have already achieved some Education & Training or Learning & Development units that can be carried forward into this qualification

Entry requirements

You need to be 19 years or over. You should have achieved or be aiming to achieve a qualification at NVQ level 3 and/or have experience in the subject/skill you wish to teach.

How you will learn

You'll attend daytime classes at National Star College on a flexible schedule. Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence drawn from your workplace practice. You'll gather records, observation reports, and professional discussions to demonstrate your competence as an internal quality assurer. Your assessor will review your evidence and provide feedback throughout the course.
