About this course

Access to HE Creative Industries Course in Poole. Classes run full-time at Bournemouth and Poole College of Further Education, five days a week during the day. The course takes one year to complete. You'll study subjects across film, photography, audio production, moving image, graphics, and higher education study skills. It's designed for adults who want to move into university-level study without traditional sixth-form qualifications. Admission is by application and interview. You'll need to demonstrate literacy and numeracy at Level 2 or above. This is a level 3 access to he creative industries qualification recognised by UK universities.

This is a vibrant, multi-disciplinary Access to HE course aimed at adult learners who can demonstrate a strong interest and/or experience in media-related subjects.

The main aims of the course are:

*To develop confidence in practical and creative skills in the chosen areas *To explore the theoretical and practical relationships between the various disciplines *To promote the use of working vocabularies and academic confidence *To promote academic and pastoral support and prepare for entry into Higher Education, UCAS applications and progression routes

Entry requirements

The course is intended for adults who do not have traditional sixth form or vocational qualificatons, but are looking to return to education. Our courses provide an excellent preparation for Higher Education and a step towards your dreams of university. Students are admitted to the programme by application form and formal interview, with a further guidance interview where appropriate. What you will learn

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions covering both practical creative work and academic study. Assessment is through coursework, projects, and written assignments across each subject area. There is no final exam in the traditional sense. Work is assessed continuously throughout the year. You'll attend an application and formal interview before the course begins, and a guidance interview may follow.

What you will need to bring

The centre will provide most materials. Bournemouth and Poole College of Further Education will confirm anything else you need before you start. If English is not your first language, you'll need to provide evidence of IELTS 5.5 or complete the college's own language assessment. You'll also need to bring certificates or other evidence of Level 2 literacy and numeracy at interview.
