About this course

AAT Level 2 Bookkeeping Course. Study online. This course covers two additional AAT units, Principles of Costing and The Business Environment, and is designed for learners who have already completed the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping. Completing both parts gives you the full AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. Classes run on Thursday evenings and the course runs over 17 weeks. Concessions are available on the full fee. A solid step for anyone building toward a bookkeeping or accounting role.

We have designed this course to support you with working in the Accounting sector. Successful completion of this course will provide skills and knowledge required for job roles working in bookkeeping, accounting or financial and business administration.

The AAT Level 2 Pathway; Certificate in Bookkeeping - which we have called Accounting Part 1 here - is aimed at individuals who wish to further their studies of bookkeeping and gain a competence qualification at Level 2 of the National Framework from a point of some previous experience and successful completion of Bookkeeping Level 1. Candidates wishing to join this course need to have a basic understanding of manual double entry bookkeeping.

You will need to be able to attend one of our centres in Bournemouth or Poole to sit the exam/exams.

This course is a pre-requisite for anyone wanting to progress to the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting Part 2 or the AAT Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping.

There is an expectation that if you enrol on this course, you are willing to commit fully to the period of time involved in this course, the associated home study and the assessed work required, and intend to sit the examination if applicable. What you will learn

  • You'll gain the additional units needed to convert a Level 2 Bookkeeping qualification into a Level 2 Accounting qualification

How you will learn

You'll study online, with classes held on Thursday evenings from 17:30 to 20:30. The course runs over 17 weeks. AAT Level 2 units are assessed by computer-based exams set and marked by AAT. You'll need to pass the assessments for each unit to complete the qualification.
