HGV Technician
Location: Harlow, Essex
Salary: £42,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role
My client is currently looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their established independent workshop based in Harlow.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys fault finding, diagnostics and working on a varied range of commercial vehicles.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
Routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
Fault finding using diagnostic equipment, including TEXA and Jaltest
MOT preparation and rectification work
Investigating and repairing vehicle defects
Carrying out repairs to a high standard
Completing service sheets and job documentation accurately
Working safely and maintaining a clean and professional workshop
Working independently and as part of a team
Ensuring all work is completed in line with manufacturer and industry standards
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 2 years’ experience as an HGV Technician
Strong knowledge of HGVs and commercial vehicles
Good mechanical and diagnostic skills
Experience with servicing, inspections and repairs
Strong fault-finding ability
A professional and reliable attitude
Good attention to detail
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications are desirable
Class 1 or Class 2 licence is beneficial but not essential
Working Hours
The role operates on a fortnightly shift pattern:
Week 1:
Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
Week 2:
Monday – Friday, 12:00pm – 8:00pm
Saturday, 7:00am – 12:00pm
A £60 late-shift bonus is paid during the late-shift week.
