About this course

Teaching Assistant Level 3 Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working directly in a school, supporting pupils in the classroom. An Advanced Learning Loan is available if you're 19 or over, and private funding is also accepted. Fees may apply depending on your circumstances. The course covers communication and professional relationships, safeguarding, promoting equality and inclusion, and supporting learning activities. It typically takes 12 months to complete. A strong level 3 teaching assistant qualification for anyone already in a school support role.

Who this course is for

This qualification is for those members of the school workforce who directly support the teaching and learning of pupils. The Award is comprised of mandatory units, including:

Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults (2 credits) Understand how to safeguard the well-being of children and young people.

Units for the longer Certificates include:

Support learning activities (4 credits) Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people (2 credits) Support assessment for learning (4 credits).
